3. EAST ELEVATION — DRAWING A-05 EXTRACT

W02 (Bed 1): sill 900 mm above FFL, head 2100 mm above FFL. W03 (Bathroom): sill 1500 mm above FFL, head 2100 mm above FFL. All external window and door heads align at 2100 mm above FFL.

4. SPECIFICATION NOTES

Compliance: All work to comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Two. All window units and external glazed doors to comply with AS 2047 Windows and external glazed doors in buildings and carry the manufacturer’s compliance label — do not remove labels before final inspection. Door clearances to AS 2688 Timber and composite doors.
Stud openings: Frame stud openings to be frame size plus 10 mm clearance at the head and at each jamb. Confirm on site before installing any unit.
Fixings: Fastener type, gauge and quantity to the Australian Window Association — An Industry Guide to the Correct Fixing of Windows and Doors, for wind classification N2.
Flashings: Head, sill and jamb flashings to all external openings. Sill flashing must be installed before the unit is positioned, extend a minimum of 150 mm past each side of the opening and turn up 25 mm at each end. Head flashing to lap over the unit and integrate with the wall sarking. Install all flashings to the window manufacturer’s written instructions.
Installation sequence (external units): (1) confirm opening dimensions against this schedule and check clearances; (2) install sill flashing; (3) position unit, pack so head and sill are level, stiles plumb and in wind, reveals flush with the inside wall lining; (4) fix to the AWA guide; (5) install head flashing and integrate with sarking; (6) seal the perimeter.

Query anything that does not match on site to Priya Nair before fixing any unit. Do not scale off drawings — use written dimensions only.
